Emissions of greenhouse gases and other pollutants are increasing in
India with the increasing demand for electricity. The aspiration for rapid
economic growth leading to rapid industrialization coupled with accelerated
urbanization and mechanization of agriculture has been responsible for this
increasing demand of electricity ever since the independence. Due to usage of
more electric apparatuses in an inefficient way, the consumers not only spoil
the energy but equally contribute in the generation and emission of more
greenhouse gases. Any power utility educate their consumers for the energy
saving, though to do this in more effective way; it should include the
figures of carbon/greenhouse gases emission. Consequently, the consumer shall
estimate the carbon emission of each apparatus he/she may use in their
home/office/every place. ·

What Exact Problem is being Solved? |

· Define and design information and feedback system preferably a mobile application which shall be useful
to estimate the approximate carbon emission by each electric apparatus. · The access of the application is for the public domain. · Gather the recent data of carbon emission in India and relate it with
the power generation. · The power rating, energy efficient factor and the usage hours of major
electric apparatus is available and on the basis of the same, define the
energy consumed per apparatus. · Thus the above two data be results the carbon emission for each
apparatus. · More energy efficient apparatus consumes less energy. |
